Dear Friends and Family of Morning Star,
We are thrilled to announce that Morning Star Fresh Food Ministry is moving to a new location! This new home will be conveniently situated not only for our recipients and Distribution Partners but also for our dedicated volunteers.
While many of us have cherished the current warehouse, recent challenges have made it difficult to continue operating there. The increasing vandalism, including a recent fire and the theft of batteries, copper wires, from the refrigerated container, has strained our team and our budget. These incidents threatened the safety and effectiveness of our ministry, especially if they had occurred during a week of distribution.
Despite our efforts, the lack of response from our landlord to secure the property has led us to make the difficult decision to move by the end of the month. This situation has also forced us to cancel the distribution for July. After much prayer and consideration, the board of directors determined that moving by July 31st is the best course of action so we are ready to serve our families come August.
We invite you to join us on Saturday, July 27th at 7:30am at 320 Watts Avenue, for a day of prayer and moving as we transition to our new home at 3240 Fruitvale Avenue. This move marks an exciting new chapter for Morning Star Fresh Food Ministry, and we are confident that God has a plan for us. His timing is perfect, even when it differs from ours.
As it says in Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose.” And in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
We look forward to continuing our mission of sharing the gospel message and providing fresh, seasonal food to families in need. Thank you for your unwavering support and prayers.

We source local growers, farmers and butchers
to provide fresh food to families in Bakersfield every month.
Every fourth Saturday of the month, volunteers come together, individuals and families, to pack and fill boxes with fresh fruits and veggies and locally sourced meats.
After the boxes are packed, we gather to pray for the families we serve and then have teams of people deliver the fresh food to local churches,
non-profits and families at their homes.
Relationships are built and the message of Hope is shared.
